Welcome to Yerba Buena Community Acupuncture!
Our mission is to provide effective, affordable, holistic medicine
in an open, sustainable community space.
Acupuncture is one of the oldest and most commonly used systems of healing in the world.
It is simple, safe, and sustainable. As acupuncture has moved more into the mainstream in the United States, it has
become prohibitively expensive for most people. However, acupuncture does not need to be expensive to be effective!
If it is affordable and accessible to everybody, it can be part of the solution to the soaring cost of healthcare.
At our clinic, we use a sliding scale of $15-$40 per visit. Pay what you like with no questions asked.
This approach allows you to come in as often as needed to resolve and manage your health concerns,
and creates a quiet, peaceful space where we can come together to rest.
Welcome to a revolution in healthcare!
Take off your shoes, sit back in a comfortable chair, and relax with one of the oldest healing methods known to humankind. We look forward to working with you!
Our clinic appreciates the diversity of human beings and does not discriminate based on race, age, religion, ability, marital status,
sexual orientation, gender identity, height, weight, national origin, language, educaton, medical diagnosis, or any other factor.

What to expect
During your initial visit, you'll fill out some simple paperwork, talk privately with a staff acupuncturist about your health concerns, and head into our peaceful community treatment room. Pick a recliner, remove your shoes and socks, roll up your sleeves and pant legs, and settle back comfortably. We may feel your pulse and look at your tongue for additional diagnostic information, then swab the points we will needle with a bit of rubbing alcohol. Then we'll insert hair-thin, sterile, stainless steel, single-use needles at varying points in your arms, legs, head, and ears. After that, rest comfortably for as long as you'd like- usually 30-60 minutes.
If this is your first acupuncture treatment, we'll make sure you are at ease every step of the way. We treat lots of people who are needle shy, and we are certain you will be pleasantly surprised at how painless acupuncture can be. Most people find it so relaxing that they fall fast asleep!
A few helpful tips:
~Try to come in having eaten something in the last few hours.
~Let us know if you have to be up at a certain time, and we will take note.
~You are welcome to pay and use the restroom before you settle in.
~Rest as long as you like; people rest for as short as 30 minutes and as long as two hours! Most feel done after 45-60 minutes, but it's really up to you. Just clear your throat or give us a look when you're ready to be unpinned.
